A nightclub customer was arrested for attempted murder after assaulting a female employee with a wooden stool in União do Sul, 689 km from Cuiabá, Brazil.
The case took place in the early hours of January 15, but gained repercussions on Wednesday (22), after security camera images showing the moment of the assault were posted on social media (watch above).
According to the Military Police, the suspect, identified as Raimundo Antunes da Silva, 45, was drunk and, after the incident, fled into the woods, but was located, arrested and sent to the prison in the city of Cláudia, 608 km from the capital.
The victim was taken to a local health unit and needed stitches to the head. The motive for the attack has not been disclosed.
Raimundo went through a custody hearing on the 15th and had his arrest in flagrante converted to preventive custody. He already had a criminal record for another attempted murder in the municipality of Água Boa, in February 2024.
